Family photography sessions in Reykjavik are designed to capture natural connections and genuine emotions between parents and children.
Sessions take place in my Reykjavik studio or outdoors depending on the season and your family’s preferences. My goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere where children feel comfortable and natural moments can unfold.
FAQ – Family Photography Session
I love working with children. I invite children from 3 months of age to family sessions. Our meeting usually lasts an hour. The photos are taken in a boho setting. The child is photographed mainly in the arms of the parents. In the case of older children, other arrangements and outdoor sessions are possible. Please contact me, and together we will plan what the whole thing will look like.
What does a family photo session look like?
I want children to feel good in time for the pictures and treat the whole event as great fun. I can take pictures in my studio. I have different backgrounds and accessories. But also sessions in the open air come into play. I am open to all your ideas and I will be happy to implement them.

What should children wear for a family photo shoot?
The most important thing is that the child feels comfortable. It is good to take clothes from natural materials, without flashy patterns and huge text that distract your attention from the model’s face. The girls look good in various kinds of dresses. Boys fit jeans and simple blouses. Of course, if we are doing a thematic session, eg Christmas, it’s worth getting a matching outfit.

How long does a family photo session last?
Usually 1-1.5 hour. It depends on many factors, styles and age of children.
How to prepare for a family photography session?
It is worth taking something to eat for younger children, as well as a supply of diapers. It is good to prepare several sets of clothes. We can discuss them before the session, and I will choose the right styling for the whole. If you plan to pose in the pictures, it is worth taking some spare clothes.
Can parents also be in the photos?
Of course, I can’t imagine it differently. I always take group photos of the whole family. It is very important keepsake.
Do you offer first birthday photo sessions?
First birthday photo sessions are also part of my offer.
If the session includes cake smash photos, parents are asked to prepare or purchase the cake themselves.
During the session I photograph the birthday child, family portraits with parents, and optionally cake smash photos. The session often ends with photos in a small bathtub (with or without real water), so please remember to bring a towel for your child.
